Finding Child Care Can Be Stressful

Finding child care can be stressful for parents – knowing what to ask, what to look for, who to trust, and how to compare options can feel overwhelming.

Quick Wins!

Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (CCR&Rs)

New Jersey’s CCR&R local agencies have staff specialists who help families find child care and work with providers to become licensed and to offer high-quality child care. Families can find their local CCR&R by county here.

Post Signs & Flyers

Post signs or flyers with links to the Grow New Jersey Kids (GNJK) web site and the CCR&R list by county in places where employees regularly gather such as the copy machine or the lunch room.

Reduce Parent Stress

Do families need help finding child care for a child with special needs? Do they need child care during non-traditional hours (like evenings or weekends)? Are parents looking for center-based care, home-based care or, an after-school program? CCR&Rs can help. They know all the options. They can work with families to help parents make informed decisions. Contact your local CCR&R today!

Lunch & Learns

  • Hold a “Lunch and Learn”. Lunch and learns are voluntary meetings, training sessions, or presentations that take place during lunch where food is often provided by the employer. They bring together people from across your organization in an informal atmosphere to collaborate and learn. Your local CCR&R would be glad to present on an array of topics!
  • Host Parenting or Child Care Seminars. Hold lunchtime or after work seminars to inform working parents about available child care resources and parenting supports. Local CCR&R specialists can be invited to make presentations to your employees. Information can also be disseminated through bulletin boards, newsletters, or company web sites.
