The New Jersey First Steps Infant/Toddler Initiative was created to assist early educators in offering the very best possible care for New Jersey’s youngest children. In the central region, Community Coordinated Child Care of Union County serves as the lead agency to Child Care Resources to provide quality training to infant and toddler educators in Monmouth County.
Through this initiative an Infant/Toddler Specialist is available to partner with early care providers by providing professional development, technical assistance, program assessment and resources.
The initiative is funded by the New Jersey Department of Human services, Division of Family Development. First Steps offers 70 hours of free training in Monmouth County per year. The goals of the First Steps Infant/Toddler Initiative are:
- To improve the quality of Infant/Toddler care across the state
- To increase the availability of quality early care programs for families with infants and toddlers
